Till the End

“…you will be hated by all for My name’s sake. But he who endures to the end shall be saved.” - Mark 13:13

Once, the Government of Rumania gave so many problems to all Christians. At that time that Government of Rumania arrested one church pastor and two other believers and put them in jail. There they were tortured in whatever way possible. That pastor and believers suffered a lot. They could not tolerate those tortures. But still, the Lord’s words which were preached by the pastor dynamically were heard by them continuously in their ears. So that, they bore all the tortures, whatever might be the tortures.

One day some officers came to the pastor and explained about the future tortures, to be done to them. They said “Will you bear the tortures? Or will you do what we are going to tell you? If you will do what we say, you will be released!” That pastor’s heart was feared and he said to them, “Yes. I will do whatever you say.” They said “You should shoot those two believers by gun.” Next day they put those believers, who were arrested with him, in front of him. Those believers saw him and said “Pastor! By hearing your preaching, we are standing here for our Lord, firmly. You just think it over.” His heart was broken. He said, “After shooting you, I will repent.” Even though those believers said, “Do not believe these people,’ he did not listen. Rather he shot them. Next moment those officers shot him down. He thought that he might ask for repentance from the God. But there is no time for that now. Bible says “He who endures to the end shall be saved.”

Yes. Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego did not give up their steadfastness as they did not think that after worshipping the golden image, they would repent. Rather they choose to go to burning fiery furnace, instead of violating God’s commandments. Now also, our Lord may be speaking with us to give up our sins. By saying, “This is my weakness. I will repent afterwards”, whether we are doing the same mistake often? Try to give up your sins. The end, i.e., death may occur at any time to a man. We do not know the time given to us. So, we must remember this and live for Christ every day. We shall stand for Christ amidst our pains, problems and struggles. Amen.
