Pray without ceasing

“...But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do…" - Matthew 6:7

A man lived with his wife and blind parents. They had no children. They had no home to live in. One day, when he went into the forest to cut wood, an angel appeared before him and asked what blessing he wanted. But he said only one blessing. He thought about what he wanted, parents' eyesight, a child, a house, etc. He said that he wanted my parents to stand on the roof of our house and watch our children playing in the yard. All three were fulfilled in one blessing.

This is a funny story. Similarly, he says that we should not use empty words in prayer but pray wisely. Solomon asks God for wisdom to lead people. Our God is the one who hears prayer. He does more than we ask. So, He gives us unspeakable wealth and wisdom. In the same way, Elijah prayed earnestly. It has not rained on the earth for three years and six months. We need to make our affairs known to God. We do not need to use many words for that. He knows our situation and thoughts. When we pray earnestly, we see that God not only hears prayers but also does more than we think. Elijah did not pray for three hours to call down fire from heaven. He only prayed for a few minutes. The fire came and licked up the altar and the surrounding water. That is, it consumed it.

How is our prayer today? Let us think for a moment. Are we using vain words to pray for a long time? Let us pray briefly, wisely, and earnestly. Hannah asked God for a child, and she had Samuel. In the same way, may our prayers be for the good of God and the building of the Kingdom of God. We will gather with our neighbours in the house we have received and pray at least once a month, asking for a house to be given to us to hold a prayer meeting. We will pray for a two-wheeler to preach the gospel, and we will go to nearby villages once a week in the vehicle we have received and preach the gospel. We will receive God's blessings.
