Don't be afraid

"Fear not, for I am with you…" - Isaiah 41:10

A young man had a constant feeling of pain in his chest even though he had no illness. So he had fear of death. So, he often goes to the hospital and gets his ECG done and since everything was normal became satisfied. The doctors and nurses there, who initially took care that he was only coming to take an ECG, later ignored him after a year. Because his ECG is always normal. One day when he actually came in with chest pains, he was not taken care. Everyone was busy with other patients so they kept quiet thinking he was regular and did not have any problem. But he actually got chest pain and died that day. This is a real incident which happened.

As Job says, " For the thing I greatly feared has come upon me,

And what I dreaded has happened to me." (Job 3:25). Some people have a terrible fear that this disease will come to them, cancer will come to them, if the level of blood test is too high, they will get heart disease immediately. It is no exaggeration to say that this affects Christians more and more. The biggest fear is not only about getting sick, but if it does come, they will die soon. We forget that in many places in the Bible God has told us not to be afraid.

Even though Job lost everything when he saw the Lord, he did not let go of his faith in Him. So God says, "Take up my cause and be bound for me" (Job 17:3). And Lord is able to do everything. He says, ``I know that what you intend to do will not be hindered'' (Job 42:2). When a difficulty or a fear comes to us, we forget the ways and paths that God has led us. Job faced all situations fearlessly. In the same way, let us also cling to the Lord who is with us in every situation.

Beloved, tell God what you are afraid of. Jesus who is with us is greater than he who is in the world. Let's learn to live with the faith that "God is with us" without fearing anything. Let's live life bravely. Amen.
